Week 8 Fantasy Hero’s by Dr. Awesome
Fantasy Fans,
I want to apologize for my sabatical from the forum the last few weeks. I hope to give some solid advice in the coming weeks. The fantasy season is almost reached the midway point and some have commanding leads and others will be fighting to make the playoffs. Some of the studs for the first half of the year have to include guys like Clinton Portis, Calvin Johnson, Matt Forte, Aaron Rodgers, Da Bears “D”, and others. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out.
Hero #1 - Tennessee Ground Game
It would not be fair to single out Chris Johnson or Lendale White since they both should have good games on Monday night against the Colts. I wouldn’t be surprised if they both went over the century mark with a touch or two a piece. Good luck Peyton, but I think you are in for a long Monday.
Hero #2 - Clinton Portis - RB Washington Redskins
This guy has had a sneaky good year. He is ahead of the running backs in most leagues and I can’t imagine that he will be shut down too much by that tough Detroit defense. Maybe they should recruit Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer to play defense. Look for Portis to where a creative outfit to the game and run all over the Lions.
Hero #3 - Donovan Mcnabb - QB Philadelphia Eagles
Coming off their bye week the Eagles look to make a statement against the upstart Falcons. With Westbrook and Curtis back the options for Mcnabb have gone up tremendously. Look for him to test the Falcons secondary along with many short dump passes to Westbrook. Don’t forget to eat your Campell’s Chunky Donavan.
Hero #4 - Marshawn Lynch - RB Buffalo Bills
This may be a stretch for some, but I have a feeling the BIlls’ ground game will be more potent against the Dolphins. They are going to have to show Trent Edwards some respect and the running game should benefit. Lynch should be able to get in the end zone a couple of times against the Dolphins.
Hero #5 - Andre Johnson - WR Houston Texans
I think I can sum this prediction up with one simple sentence: There is a professional football game this Sunday in Houston where the Houston Texans will play the Cincinatti Bengals.
Hero #6 - Antonio Gates - TE - San Diego Chargers
I mean maybe the old fashioned English cooking will help spark the Chargers offense. Look for Gates to have a big game across the pond against the bipolar New Orleans Saints.
Well this will be an interesting week in fantasy and I am excited to see the action on Sunday. I had a brief moment of sadness this week when I realized that we are already in Week 8 of the NFL season. Maybe it is my pure love for the game of football, but the seasons are too quick. So my Dr. Phil point here is enjoy the ride during the football season even if your fantasy team is in last place and you live in Cincinatti or Detroit.
